Student Technology Guide

Welcome to TRU

This guide helps new and returning TRU students get set up with the technology and systems used during your studies, whether you are learning on campus or through Open Learning.

TRU Computer Usage Best Practices & Policies

All TRU students are responsible for using university technology in a secure and respectful way. Following best practices helps protect your personal information and TRU data.

  • Do not share your passwords and do not leave shared computers signed in to your accounts.
  • Store course and assignment files in approved TRU locations such as OneDrive, not on personal USB drives or third-party cloud services.
  • Report suspicious emails using the Report Phishing option in Outlook or by contacting the IT Service Desk.
