TRU provides Microsoft 365 to all active students. This includes access to tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. You use these services for email, coursework, communication, and file storage during your studies.
Signing In
Use your Microsoft 365 login format: T00######@mytru.ca and your TRU network password. This is different from your named email address, which is used for communication and appears as something like jonesj25@mytru.ca.
Your account is protected by Microsoft Multifactor Authentication (MFA). You sign in the same way for Outlook on the web, installed Office apps, Teams, OneDrive, and other connected services.
Student Email
Your TRU student email is the primary way the university contacts you about registration, deadlines, grades, and other important updates.
You can access your inbox through the web at Outlook on the web or by using the Microsoft Outlook app on your computer or mobile device.
OneDrive
OneDrive is your TRU-provided cloud storage for assignments, notes, and project files. As a student, you receive 10 GB of OneDrive storage for use during your studies.
Use OneDrive to keep your files backed up and available across devices. Avoid relying only on USB drives, since they are easy to lose or damage.
Microsoft 365 Apps
You can work in your browser or install Microsoft 365 apps on your personal computer. Apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams are included with your student account while you are active at TRU.
