Map Network Drives - Student F Drive

This section only needs to be completed once on your desktop. These instructions will map your Personal Storage Space.

1. From your Windows start menu, open Notepad

2. Copy the following text into Notepad
 
** Please Note: Change the DRIVE LETTER "F" to a different letter if your device already has a disk or drive installed as "F" **

net use F: /delete
net use F: \\mytru_vfiler1.mytru.univ\home\<lastname initial>\<TRUIDNumber> * /user:myTRU\<TRUIDNumber>
pause

3. Replace the two TRUIDNumbers with your TRU ID number

4. Save this file as “TRUNetworkDrives.bat” to your desktop

This method allows you to reboot your Mac and have the mapped network drive automatically remount and appear on the desktop.

1. From the Finder, hit Command+K

2. Enter the path

smb://mytru_vfiler1.mytru.univ/home/<lastname initial>/<TRUIDNumber>

• Replace the <lastname initial> with your last name initial
• Replace the TRUIDNumber with your TRU ID Number
• click 'Connect'

3. Enter your login credentials and click “OK”

4. The drive is now mounted

After following the steps of "Mapping Network Drives on Mac OS", this method will allow you to just log in automatically every time you sign in to your Mac

1. Now enter into System Preferences from the Apple Menu

2. Click on 'Users & Groups'

3. Click on "Login Items" and lick on the "+" button to add another login item

5. Locate the network drive you previously mountain and click "Add"

6. Next time you log in, Enter your myTRU username (T-ID) and password and make sure to turn on "remember this password in my keychain" and click Connect
