Global Protect VPN Setup for Windows

To setup VPN on your Windows device, follow the instructions below

Instructions

  1. Ensure you have disconnected from an existing VPN portal or application before proceeding
     
  2. Open a web browser and visit https://vpn-tru.gpcloudservice.com/ to download the GlobalProtect VPN App
     
  3. Sign in with your TRU Credentials

  4. Download the Global Protect VPN App for your computer - Windows 64 bit should be used in most cases

  5. Once downloaded, open the installer file. If you are asked to allow the installer to run, select Yes

  6. Once the VPN is finished installing, enter the appropriate portal address: vpn-tru.gpcloudservice.com

  7. Sign in with your TRU Credentials:
     
    Students Staff & Faculty, Contractors, Non-Employees
    Use your TID@mytru.ca and myTRU Password Use your TRU Email & Password, a browser window will launch for you to login
    You will be prompted for your Microsoft Authenticator Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
     
  8. To disconnect from the VPN, open the App from your System Tray next to the clock and click on Disconnect
