Access your Student Email on the Web at outlook.office.com
Your username for Student Email is TRUID@mytru.ca (EX: T00123456@mytru.ca)
Use the same Password you have created for your myTRU Account

Login Instructions
- Visit outlook.office.com and sign in with your Student Microsoft Account - Add @mytru.ca to your TRU ID (EX: T00123456@mytru.ca) for your username
- If you have not signed in to your Student Email before, you may be asked to provide more information for verification. Click Next, then provide a Verification Phone and/or Email Address
- Once Logged In, you will see your Student Email Mailbox
When Will I Get an Email Address?
Only students considered active will receive an email address and mailbox.
To be counted as an active student, you must either have been admitted into a program with your tuition deposit paid OR have registered and paid for at least one course
Typically your Student Email Mailbox will be active within 24 hours of completing payment for either your tuition deposit or course registration.
How Do I Find My TRU Outlook Email Address?
Your Student Email Address can be found by logging in at outlook.office.com
Click on the Account Manager (your profile picture or initials) at the top-right corner of the page. You'll see your Display Name, Email Address, and some account options listed here.
You can also open the Settings cogwheel next to the Account Manager, then click on Account in the left pane and Email Account on the middle pane to see your email address.

Sometimes you may shown a Help us make sure you're not a robot message in error. If this happens, follow these instructions:
- Close the page or browser tab and return to Student Email. You may also use your browser's Back button to return to the Student Email login page. Sign In again using your @mytru.ca email address or add @mytru.ca to your TRU ID (examples: yourmytruemail@mytru.ca or T00999999@mytru.ca) Next, enter your myTRU Password.
- You should now be transferred to your myTRU Student 365 Mailbox
When Does myTRU Email Deactivate?
Your Outlook Email Address will be deactivated two years after completing your last course at TRU
Your myTRU Student Email Account will only be active while you are considered an active student. If you are not registered in courses, or have graduated, your Outlook Email Account will be deactivated. This typically occurs within 720 days of the start of the last term in which you were active, so about two years.
Never link your myTRU Student Email to anything critically important, as you will lose access to this email when no longer an active student. Mailboxes are not retained after deactivation, and email can not be restored.
Can I Setup My Mail Account On My Smart Device?
Refund Receipts or Emails - Can I Login to My Student Email to Retrieve This?
A copy of your receipt is sent to your preferred email address on file. If you are currently taking courses, this will be your Student Email account.
If you have cancelled all courses, please contact the finance department (250-371-5646) to request a copy of the receipt, as your Student Email is deactivated with cancellation.
