Install Microsoft Teams

This Article will Guide you through Installing Microsoft Teams if it isn't present on your Computer. Installing MS Teams will also install the Teams Meetings Add-On for Outlook to allow you to send Teams Meetings Requests through Email with Outlook.

  1. Close any and all open Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc...)

  2. Visit the Teams Web Apps Version online with your Web Browser

  3. Sign In to Teams for the Web when prompted by the page. Enter your Email Address then Click Next.

  4. Enter your TRU Network Password and Click Sign In

  5. At this point, you may need to Authenticate with DUO Multifactor. If a DUO Prompt appears, Click your preferred DUO Method and Complete to proceed

  6. Click Yes or No when prompted to Stay Signed In - according to your preference

  7. Teams for the Web will now load. You can either Click "Get the Mac App" to download the Teams Desktop App, or Click "Use the web app instead" to continue on to Microsoft Teams for the Web in your browser. Instructions are included below to download the Desktop App with either choice

    Click "Get the Mac app"
    Click "Use the web app instead"
  8. Wait for the MS Teams Installer to finish downloading

  9. Locate and Open the Microsoft Teams Installer in your Browser or Finder

  10. Install Microsoft Teams will begin to install the Teams App

    Click Continue to proceed

  11. Destination SelectLeave the default option selected (Install for all users of this computer)

    Click Continue to proceed

  12. Installation TypeLeave the default options selected

    Click Continue to proceed

  13. Installation TypeLeave the default options selected

    Click Install to proceed

  14. Installation: if prompted, Enter your Computer Login or Administrator Password

    Click Install Software to proceed

  15. Installation: Wait for the Installer to complete, this may take several minutes

  16. The Installer may prompt you to Keep or Delete the Microsoft Teams Installer

    Click Keep or Move to Trash according to your preference

  17. Summary: Once Teams has installed, Click Close to finish

  18. This also installs the Teams Meetings Add-On for Outlook to allow you to send Teams Meetings Requests through Email

  19. Microsoft Teams may start by itself as the Teams Installer finishes.

  20. If the Teams Desktop App doesn't open by itself, Locate and Run Teams with your Finder, Application Launcher, or Spotlight Search

    When prompted, Enter your Email Address and Click Next

  21. When prompted, Enter your Password and Click Sign In

  22. At this point, you may need to Authenticate with DUO Multifactor. If a DUO Prompt appears, Click your preferred DUO Method and Complete to proceed

  23. A prompt for "Stay signed in to all your apps" may appear. If you are using a Personal Computer and NOT a TRU-Provided Device, be sure to Un-Select the option "Allow my organization to manage my device" and then Click the link for "No, sign in to this app only". If you are using a TRU-Provided Device - simply Click OK to proceed without changing any options

  24. Microsoft Teams should now be installed and open - ready for use
