How to Add Videos to a Moodle Course

Adding a Video to Your Moodle Course

If you've tried to add a video to your Moodle course and found that only the sound works, not the video, here's the right way to do it:

Starting Off:

  • Go to the My Media section after you log into Moodle.

Uploading Your Video:

  • Click on Add New and then "Media Upload" to upload your video file.

Setting Video Details:

  • Once your video is uploaded, you can change the title, add a description, and more.

Making the Video Available in Your Course:

  • Select Published for Publishing Status
  • Select the Course(s)/Container(s) from the Publish in Gallery List that you want to add the video to

Saving Your Video:

  • Click Save to keep your changes.

Adding the Video to the Course:

  • Go to the course where you want the video to show.
  • Click Add an activity or resource and choose Kaltura Video Resource.

  • Add a name and a description for your video resource.

  • Click the Add Media Button.

Embedding Your Video:

  • Find your video from the list and click the "Embed" button, which looks like this: </>

The media will now be embedded in the resource. Simply Save the activity and add it to the course. Make sure it is visible to students if you want them to be able to see it.
