Installing TeamViewer for Remote Assistance

TeamViewer Quick Support

TeamViewer Quick Support is a Remote Assistance Tool that will enable Thompson Rivers University IT Services Technicians to connect to your device. Software Installations or Troubleshooting can be carried out as long as your device can connect to the Internet and supports TeamViewer

Installing Quick Support

To install TeamViewer for Remote Assistance you can refer to the following guide.

  1. Ensure your device is connecting to the Internet and is able to open Web Pages
     
  2. Visit the IT Services Portal at https://tru.ca/itsportal


     
  3. Locate and Click on the Download TeamViewer Button


     
  4. If Prompted, Click "Accept All Cookies" on the Download Page


     
  5. Your Web Browser should have begun to download an Installation File for TeamViewer Quick Support.







    If you do not see this downloading file in your browser, you can Click the "Try Again" link to start a download manually
    ** Note: the webpage will still say "Loading TeamViewer now..." even if the file is already finished downloading. Check your downloads folder. ** 

  6. Locate and Open or Run the Downloaded Install File

    A TeamViewer License Agreement Prompt may appear. Click the checkbox for "I accept the EULA and the DPA" then Click Continue


     
  7. TRU TeamViewer Quick Support will now load, and shortly display an ID Number and Password. Provide these to the IT Services Technician so they can connect to your device and begin with your remote assistance session
