Install Teams & Teams for Outlook - Windows

Install Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the main communication and collaboration tool used at TRU. Installing the desktop version of Teams will also add the Teams Meetings Add-in for Outlook, allowing you to create and send Teams meeting invites directly from Outlook.

This guide will walk you through installing Microsoft Teams on your computer.

  1. Close all open Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) before starting the installation.

  2. Go to the Microsoft Teams Web App in your browser.

  3. When prompted, sign in using your TRU email address:
    • Employees: username@tru.ca (e.g., jsmith@tru.ca)
    • Students: TRU ID number followed by @mytru.ca (e.g., T00123456@mytru.ca)

    Then click Next.
