Remove Generic AD Account from Windows

If you are encountering issues with a shared 'generic' account appearing when accessing Microsoft services such as SharePoint or Teams, the following steps will help you prevent this from recurring.

  1. Go to Your Account Settings:

    • Click on the Start Menu
    • Search Settings,
    • Click on Accounts

  2. Find the Shared Account:

    • Select Accounts
    • Click on Access work or school.

  3. Remove the Account:

    • Click on the shared account in the list.
    • Click Disconnect.
