This article shows how to export your class schedule from myTRU and add the attached .ics file to your preferred calendar application.
Export Instructions
- Open the myTRU Student Portal.
- Select Course Timetable under Course Registration.
If prompted, sign in with your TRU ID number as your username, and your myTRU password
- From the Term drop-down, select your semester.
- Click Email Schedule and Downloadable Calendar File (top-right).
- Enter your email address and click Send.
- You will receive an email with your schedule and a .ics file attached.
Add the .ics File to Your Calendar
Follow the steps for your calendar provider. Use the official help links for detailed screenshots and the most current layout.
Microsoft Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com / Microsoft 365)
Microsoft Outlook (Windows/Mac – classic Outlook)
- Open Outlook → File → Open & Export → Import/Export.
- Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs) → Next.
- Select the .ics file → OK → choose to add to an existing calendar or open as new.

Apple Calendar on iPhone/iPad
Option A – Subscribe from a link
- On your device, open Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar.
- Paste the .ics URL and tap Next, then Save.
Option B – Open a saved .ics file
- Save the .ics file from Mail to the Files app, or open it directly from Mail.
- Tap the file and choose to add the events to Calendar.

Troubleshooting
- No events imported in Google Calendar: try importing again and confirm you selected the correct calendar. See Google’s guide: Import events to Google Calendar.
- Outlook “Upload from file” not visible: use Outlook on the web via Calendar or switch to classic Outlook and use File → Open & Export. Microsoft instructions.
- Yahoo layout looks different: look for an Import option in calendar settings or actions (labels can change). Yahoo Calendar help.
- Apple devices: if tapping the .ics attachment does not show add options, save it to the Files app and open from there, or use an ICS subscription link instead. Apple guide.
