As of June 17, TRU replaced the EDUROAM wireless certificate.
Some devices will automatically prompt you to trust the new certificate. Others may get stuck trying to use old settings and fail to connect.
To fix this, remove the previous EDUROAM profile from your device before reconnecting.
This article uses macOS-based steps, but the instructions also apply to iPhones and iPads.
iOS differences are noted as needed.
Step 1: Open System Settings
macOS: Click the Apple menu, then choose System Settings
iOS: Open the Settings app from your home screen or App Library
Step 2: Open General
In System Settings, select General from the left-hand menu.
Step 3: Open VPN & Device Management
Under General, scroll to and select Profiles or Device Management.
This is where configuration profiles, including EDUROAM, are stored.
Step 4: Remove the EDUROAM Profile (if present)
Look for a profile named EDUROAM
If no profile appears: There’s nothing to remove. This means the profile was never installed or has already been deleted.
Step 5: Reconnect to EDUROAM
Go back to Wi-Fi settings.
-
Select EDUROAM from the list
-
Sign in with your TRU credentials
-
Accept the new certificate when prompted
Alternate Setup Option
If you're still having issues connecting, we recommend using Eduroam Configuration Tool to reset and configure the connection profile properly.
