FTP Client

An FTP client allows you to connect directly to a remote file resource and transfer files to and from your local machine.

Download WS_FTP or FileZilla (PC or Mac) based on your user preference.

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching puts professional developer tools, software, and services from Microsoft in the hands of faculty and students.

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a Microsoft program to provide students with Microsoft software design, Microsoft developer tools, Cloud Computing Access and learning resources.

PDF Reader

Adobe Acrobat Reader - This will allow you to view but not create an Acrobat .PDF file.

Microsoft 365

Visit Student Microsoft 365 for more information on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Publisher and OneDrive for Business with cloud storage for TRU Students.

TRU Staff and Faculty can access Microsoft 365 by signing in to Office.com with their TRU E-Mail Accounts. More information is available in the General Microsoft 365 FAQ.

Read & Write

From hearing emails or documents read out loud to text prediction, picture dictionaries, summary highlighters and a grammar, spelling and confusable words checker; Read & Write makes lots of everyday literacy tasks simpler, quicker and more accurate.

All staff and students now have access to Read & Write at home.

Other Tools

7-Zip - This free utility allows you to extract 7z, RAR, and zip files. You can use 7-Zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization.

Affinity Studio - Free Photohop and Illustrator alternative.

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio - It is a free and open source software that will allow you to do video recordings and edits.

Photopea - A free web-based photo editor

Shotcut - Free, open source, cross-platform video editor.
