Install Instructions

To install SPSS, you must have Administrative Access to your Computer

  1. Connect your Computer to the Internet. This is required to authorize your license each time you launch SPSS
     
  2. Download the Windows Installation File to your computer's local hard drive from this Microsoft OneDrive link: SPPS Installer

    If prompted, sign in with your TRU Microsoft 365 Account Credentials. EX: (T00999999@mytru.ca for Students or your @tru.ca Email for Staff & Faculty)
     
  3. Open the Folder where you downloaded the SPSS Installation File
     
  4. Right-Click the SPSS Installation File and Click "Run as Administrator" to open the InstallShield Wizard. Wait as the file is extracted and prepared for installation


  5. Proceed through the screens until you reach the Software License Agreement. Read the Agreement carefully

    You must Accept the terms to install and use SPSS. If you agree, select "I accept…"
     
  6. Continue to Destination Folder. Select the drive and folder(s) on your computer where you would like the SPSS program to be located. We strongly recommend that you Choose the default location
     
  7. Proceed to Ready to Install the Program
     
  8. Select "Install" and a progress display will appear

  9. When the installation completes, a "successful installation" screen will appear. Select the checkbox to "Start IBM SPSS Statistics now", if not already selected. Then Click Finish

  10. Click Launch License Wizard when prompted

  11. The SPSS License Wizard will launch for licensing SPSS. Click Next. Select Concurrent User License and Click Next


  12. Type in the License Server: gandalfgrey.bc.net for the license manager server name or IP address and Click Next

  13. Licensing will complete and display a status page. Click Finish to close the Licensing Wizard and open SPSS
