Overview
You can join a Microsoft Teams meeting by dialing in from your phone without the application. This guide explains how to connect using a dial-in number and what to do if you can’t find one in your invitation.
Joining a Teams Meeting by Phone
- Check with the meeting host – Confirm that the host has an Audio Conferencing license that allows dial-in access.
- Dial the phone number – The Teams meeting invitation will include a dial-in number. If you need alternative numbers, check Microsoft’s dial-in numbers.
- Enter the Conference ID – This is found in the meeting details. If you’re unsure, ask the host. They can find it by selecting More Actions > Meeting Details in Teams.
- Follow the voice prompts:
- If asked, ignore the prompt for the meeting organizer to press star (*).
- Record your name when prompted and press pound (#) to enter the meeting.
- Wait for admission if needed – If the meeting has a waiting room (lobby), you may hear, "Please wait for the leader to admit you."
- Join the meeting – Once admitted, you will hear, "You’re now joining the meeting."
Troubleshooting: No Dial-In Number in the Invitation
- If there’s no dial-in number or Conference ID in the invite, the meeting host may not have an Audio Conferencing license.
- Ask the host for an alternative way to join, such as through the Microsoft Teams app or web browser.
