Creating an Eduroam Guest Wireless Account

Guests who need access for a few days can use this daily option:

1. Connect to the TRU wireless network
2. Open a browser. You will be redirected to an options page.
3. Select the option "Option 2: One Day Pass" and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. You will receive a text message with instructions and your temporary login credentials.

Important: the credentials you receive are valid until midnight, after which you will need to perform the steps 1-4 to issue you new credentials for another day. You may request a one day pass as often as you need.

This option is perfect for TRU staff to grant access to a visiting group (up to 10 people for a maximum of 5 days). To do so, YOU (as the invitor extending the inventation): 

1. Go to the Eduroam Visitor Access portal: 🔗 https://eva.eduroam.ca/l
2. Click Sign In.
   
3. In the organization search field, type and select Thompson Rivers University.
4. Log in using your TRU credentials:
   • Employees use username@tru.ca (e.g., jsmith@tru.ca)
     • Complete Multi-Factor Authentication if prompted.
5. Once logged in, Click Create Visitor on the dashboard or click on My Visitors in the top navigation pane.
    
6. Fill in the required guest information:
   • First and Last Name
   • Email address or mobile phone number (at least one is required)
   • Communication Language.
   • Type of Visitor Notification
     • Notification by E-mail
     • Notification by Text Message
     • Send me a confirmation by Email
   • Access Period
7. Optional: Account Creator Notes
8. Click Submit.

Your guest will automatically receive a wifi login credential (username and password) via the notification method you provided.
