How to Enable Double-Sided Printing on a Mac
Issue:
Unable to print double-sided (duplex printing) on a Mac.
Cause:
The duplexer (double-sided printing option) may not be enabled in the printer settings.
Solution:
Follow the appropriate set of instructions below based on whether the printer is already installed. This guide is specifically tailored for Konica Minolta MFPs.
1) Printer NOT Already Installed:
- Add the Printer:
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences) on your Mac.
- Navigate to Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a new printer.
- Select your Konica Minolta printer from the list.
- Ensure you select the appropriate Konica Minolta driver (download it from the Konica Minolta website if necessary).
- Click Add to complete the process.
- Enable the Duplexer in Printer Options:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners and select the printer you just added.
- Click on Options & Supplies...
- In the pop-up window, navigate to the Options tab.
- Locate the Duplexer option and toggle it to On.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Test Double-Sided Printing:
- Open a document you want to print.
- Go to File > Print.
- In the print dialog, ensure the double-sided option is enabled.
- Click Print to confirm that duplex printing works correctly.
2) Printer Already Installed:
- Enable the Duplexer in Printer Options:
- Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your Konica Minolta printer from the list.
- Click on Options & Supplies....
- In the pop-up window, navigate to the Options tab.
- Locate the Duplexer option and toggle it to On.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Test Double-Sided Printing:
