In September 2021, Microsoft announced that effective October 1, 2022, they will begin disabling Basic authentication for Outlook, EWS, RPS, POP, IMAP, and EAS protocols in Exchange Online. TRU has submitted the request to extend the deadline from October 1, 2022 to early January 2023. This will allow TRU's IT Department time to adjust the servers that use Basic Authentication and move users to a more secure authentication method.
Basic authentication simply means the application sends a user name and password with every request, and those credentials are also often stored or saved on the device.
With Basic authentication being turned off, the IT Department at TRU will no longer be able to support setup of the built-in mail and calendar application within the iOS settings

Once the account has been removed, follow the instructions below to Setup Office Apps and Email on your mobile device using the Microsoft Outlook application available from your app store.
